Employees, pensioners hold massive rally at Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sep 29: On the call of All Jammu and Kashmir Low Paid Employees Federation and State Pensioners Association, hundreds of employees and pensioners staged a massive protest demonstration in Bhaderwah town. Earlier in the morning employees and pensioners staged a massive Dharna in SDM Office Bhaderwah and after submitting a memorandum of demands took out a procession which after passing through various bazaars of Bhaderwah town turned into a public rally in Seri bazaar Bhaderwah. The rally was presided over by Bhagat Singh Manhas. State President of Low Paid Employees Federation Com. Abdul Majid Khan criticized the state government for its anti-employee and anti-pensioner policies. He alleged that government has failed to control sky rocketing prices of essential commodities. He demanded payment of 6th pay commission arrears in two installments on central pattern besides enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month and release of DA installment due from July 2011 in favour of state employees and pensioners. Khan made a strong plea for regularization of daily wagers, RETs, village guards and early redressal of grievances of teachers, clerks and class 4th employees. Speakers demanded filling of vacant posts of doctors in Bhaderwah hospital, framing of uniform rate lists of essential goods of daily use, streamlining of transport system in the town, opening of LPG booths at different points in the town.
