Bhamag inhabitants seek tehsil status; intensify campaign

Intensifying its campaign for tehsil status for Illaqa Bhamag of Udhampur district, a delegation of the Welfare United Front led by its President Krishan Lal Master under the patron- ship of Bansi Lal Kohistani held a series of meetings with Mangat Ram Sharma Minister for Health and Medical Education, Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed Minister for Education and Gulchain Singh Charak Minister for R&B and strongly demanded tehsil status for Bhamag comprising of more than 32 villages which are hilly and widely scattered, as already recommended by the Wazir Commission.
The Ministers are reported to have assured the delegation that State Government would consider their demand.
