| NSS day celebrated with fervor | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, September 29: A colorful function was organized by the NSS Unit of Government G L Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar.
A series of activities were conducted to commemorate NSS day .The function began with a patriotic song by NSS volunteers. After the song about 6 students participated in a seminar on the topic, The Role of Teachers in the 21st Century .
The seminar was followed by poem recitation competition in which of students recited their self composed poems.
Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the College Prof.(Dr. ) Nater Singh Raina threw light on the importance of NSS, he exhorted the students to actively participate in the welfare of the country.
He also lauded the efforts of NSS Programme Officer Prof. Rachna for organizing the function.
Prof. (Dr.) T.k. Sharma and Dr. Neeraj Gupta acted as member of the Jury to Judge the performance in the Seminar. Monika Sharma, Neha Verma, Priyanka were adjudged first, second and third prize respectively. The Programme was attended by 100 NSS Volunteers, faculty members, students. Professor Shalini Rana presented vote of thanks.
