| Assembly-2011 | | State Vigilance Commission Bill passed in LA | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Sep 30:The Legislative Assembly today passed State Vigilance Act, 2011 with
voice vote.
“A Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission
Act, 2011 (L.A Bill No. 19 of 2011)”, was introduced by Minister for
Finance, A R Rather in the House yesterday.
Replying to the discussion on the Bill, Minister for Finance A.R.
Rather said the aim of bringing this Bill is to broadbase its efficacy
and bring it at par with the Central legislation on the subject. He
said the Act would prove useful for ensuring good governance and
corruption free public services delivery system.
Earlier, Mir Saifullah, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Harshdev Singh moved
amendments to the Act which were not considered by the House.
