Kishtwar court issues notice to 5 accused | Defamation case against former PCC secretary | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 30: A Kishtwar court has issued notices for personal appearance of former Secretary Pradesh Congress committee, Thakur Jughal Bhandari and four others in a defamation case under section 499 Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). The case has been filed by senior youth Congress leader and former President District youth Congress Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir Husain. The other accused have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Hap, Mohinder Singh Parihar, Suman Thakur and Yassir Hussain all residents of Kishtwar. They have been directed to ensure their presence in the court on October 24. The complainant has accused the respondents of launching a disinformation campaign against him thereby injuring his reputation. It has also been stated by the complainant that the accused published the derogatory and defamatory allegations against him in few local dailies wherein serious allegations were leveled against him. They even dubbed him as anti-national and criticized his appointment terming it as threat to the congress party, read the complaint. As per the complainant he had earlier served a legal notice upon the accused asking them to tender apology but there was no response from their side. Complainant has alleged that the act of the accused has affected his reputation before general public and has prayed that since the accused have committed offence u/s section 499 RPC and they be punished u/s 500 RPC. |
