Prof Gupta raises query over delay in Temple Bill | | | Jammu: Notwithstanding the assurance given to the various organisations fighting for the bill to ensure protection of Hindu shrines and temples in Kashmir Valley, the Bill has yet to be tabled for consideration and passage in the current autum session of Legislature. With no word nor any indication from the government regarding the fate of Bill, Senior member of the House Prof Chaman Lal Gupta today raised a query in the Legislative Assembly today . Needless the mention that Bill stands introduced in the House over two years back but since there the government has made no effort to bring it for discussion and passage . Though the Bill has been drafted and introduced by the present NC led coalition government in the state but it has failed to explain the reasons for putting the same in cold storage for now. Prof Gupta while raising the matter sought an answer for delay in enlisting the Temple Bill in the schedule of business during current session. He contended whereas the government had shown keen interest and urgency in passage of some fresh bills and amendments in some old bill, they have failed to explain the reason as to why this one has not been kept in the business schedule. |
