| LIC celebrates Social Security month | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1:In order to spread the message of social security particularly to socially as well as economically backward classes and rural poor, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has been celebrating the month of October every year as a social security month.
This year, too, the LIC is celebrating the October as the month of social security.
One of the main objectives of LIC since its inception has been to spread life insurance widely, in particular in the rural areas and to the socially, economically backward classes with the objective of providing them financial cover against death & disability.
LIC has paid more than 278.47 crores by way of claims to families below poverty line during last year.
