CGPWA observes International Elders’ Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 1: International Elders’ Day was observed by Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) J&K by extending special consideration and concern towards the well being viz a viz welfare of senior pensioners. On the occasion, CGPWA team visited those family pensioners, especially who are plus eighty years of age and are unable to attend weekly meetings of the Association members held every Monday. The team comprising VP Sharma, P P Sharma, N L Bakshi, J K Vaid and R L Kampasi paid visit to such members on Elders’ Day including R N Sharma, IFS (1912 born), Dwarka Nath Gupta, IAS (1915 born), H L Abrol, IFS; besides Mrs Teja Singh, Kanta Gandotra and Sudershan Sehgal. They were presented bouquets, Pensioners’ Journal 2011 and Telephone Directory of CGPWA J&K members. It was ensured that the senior pensioners are not deprived of their rightful dues with regard to correct fixation of their pensions/family pension and necessary information inputs were made available to them such as getting date of birth of family pensioner included in the revised PPOs. This is necessary as the family pensioners would also be eligible to get additional pension on attaining age of 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100 at the rate of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100% respectively. The good will gesture extended by the Association was appreciated by the senior pensioners and their family members and the visiting team was equally delighted by rendering some service to their seniors. The Association is ever prepared to render service to any pensioners who may or may not be registered members of CGPWA in resolving their problems.
