| Land grabber held with pistol | | Accused already booked in rape, assault cases | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1: Narwal Police arrested a youth with a loaded pistol from Fruit Mandi complex here today.
Mohammad Yousaf alias Shamma of Bathindi was held with a pistol when he put the licensed pistol at the temple of a boy demanding money for parking vehicle in parking lot.
On having information a police team rushed to the spot and arrested him.
A case under section 107,151,117 Cr PC was lodged against him.
As per police record Yousuf was already booked in rape and land grabbing cases with Narwal police.
A police officer giving information said that in 2008 Yousaf committed a rape on a girl and was booked under section 376,341 RPC under FIR NO 84/2008. The inquiry in this connection was being conducted by SP Rural. He said that the same person grabbed a piece of land of Jammu Development Authority in Bathindi and assaulted JDA employees when they launched a drive to dismantle the illegal construction raised and accordingly a case under section 353,336 RPC lodged against him against FIR NO 55/2010.
He said that tracking his involvement in different criminal activities, the police have written to DC Jammu for cancellation of arms license of the accused.
