| Protesting SPOs locked up at Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1:The protest of Special Police Officers (SPOs) demanding regularization and hike in wages continued for the sixth consecutive day today in several parts of Jammu region.
The reports said that the SPOs held demonstrations in Udhampur, Samba and Kathua.
In Samba, the striking SPOs were locked up by the police for some time in police station to scuttle a protest demonstration of the former.
The policing of several district including Samba, Kathua and Udhampur has got a severe jolt as majority of the SPOs went on strike demanding regularization of their services and hike in salaries.
The protesting SPOs were assured of the redressel of their demands by the senior police officers.
Pertinent to mention here that SPOs deputed in different locations in Jammu region are on strike for the last six days in protest against their non-regularization.
