| Dr. Romesh announces water augmentation scheme | | | JAMMU, DEC 7
Minister of State for Industries, PHE & Irrigation Dr. Ramesh Chander Sharma has said that the Government is making all out efforts for provision of basic amenities to the people of state and is committed for their involvement in the implementation and monitoring of development programmes. Dr. Sharma was addressing a public gathering at Dhodi Gujar colony Bypass here last evening. Counting the measures initiated by the coalition Government, the Minister said that with a view to provide easy access to the people, new administrative units have been established in the state which would facilitate the people and help in redressing their grievances at their doorsteps. Responding to the demands put forth by the people of the area, the Minister announced that for augmentation and improvement of water supply in the area, work for construction of water reservoir with a capacity of 20 lakh gallons would be started soon at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh. This scheme will help in improving water supply position in water scarcity area. He also directed the PHE authorities for repairs of Water Tank of Government Middle School in the colony and a special water connection for the school. Executive Engineer, PHE, Mr. H.C Jerath and AEE Narwal, Mr. Satish Sharma and other Engineers of PHE accompanied the Minister. |
