PDP protests hike in prices of essential commodities | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 1:Jammu & Kashmir Peoples’ Democratic Party held a strong protest demonstration at Bikram Chowk against State Government for continue hike in the price of essential commodities during Navratries. The protest was led by PDP leaders Vikram Singh, Girish Sharma District Vice President Jammu Urban (Y) , Pankaj Gupta, Sachin Sharma, Sonu Saini, Puneet Jamwal, Dimple Kumar and Pervesh Bali. PDP activists flayed the state Government for burdening the common man by increasing the prices of essential commodities. They said the government has no control on the prices hike by the retailer and other business concern. The PDP workers shouted slogans against central and state governments for keeping an ‘indifferent’ attitude towards common man. PDP leader Vikram Singh said that both central and state governments are responsible for hike in the price of essential commodities during Navratra Festival. Vikram Singh Said fruit and Vegetables Merchant increase their prices during Navratras, this cause common Men suffer most. Girish Sharma said State Horticulture department required to control the price increased by Retail Merchant as the same is available in the wholesale market much cheaper which is sold by retailers by earning a profit of 100-120% profit which is not tolerable .
