Cong secretary reacts to defamation suit Asif Iqbal Naik | | | kishtwar: Congress leader and state secretary of Congress party from Kishtwar Thakur Jughal Bhandari today rebutted defamation suit filed by youth Congress leader from Kishtwar Sheikh Nasir Hussain against him and four other people. In the suit filed by Nasir, it has been alleged that after his announcement as Youth Congress President Kishtwar, accused carried dis-information campaign against him and even leveled serious allegations against him thereby injuring his reputation. It has also been stated by the complainant that the accused not only raised voice but at the same time published the said derogatory and defamatory allegations against him in few local dailies wherein serious allegations were leveled upon him regarding his integrity. They even dubbed him as anti-national and criticized his appointment terming it as threat to the congress party. Bhandari denied that he or any other person against whom Sheikh Nasir has field defamation suit in court of law never used derogatory language against him as was claimed. Bhandari said that the allegations against Nasir should have probed before making his appointment as District Youth President Congress for Kishtwar. He said that he and others have already informed the party leaders about the allegations against Sheikh Nasir for having close friendship with Farooq Ahmed Ganie, arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police on the charges of helping the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI by providing documentary/Video of various army and civil installation in Jammu and Kashmir. Bhandari said that they have already pushed an alarm before the party leaders about the damage to the party in case Sheikh Nasir is appointed as DYP Kishtwar. He said that he and others have full honor for the honorable court and said that he will appear before the court and will put forth his view point before the honorable court. It is worthwhile to mention that Thakur Jugal Bhandari is considered as close ally of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and former R&B Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori. |
