Political 'Golmaal' over Afzal Guru, all wrestled well!

Jammu, Oct 1: Unthinkable happened. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted and writer-turned-politician Engineer Rasheed rushed to speaker of legislative assembly with a resolution seeking clemency for parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
On the fateful day when the debate was to take place inside legislative assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, a wrestling match followed with MLAs taking sides, demanding whatever they could think off under the open sky. To make themselves audible, they resorted to heroics unheard of. Some were over the table, some under, few others walked out; some kicked seating arrangements while one preferred reading international page of a two day old newspaper amid the political wrestling.
Engineer Rasheed yelled at everyone whosoever came his way. The speaker, who is known for not adjourning the house even during worst of the circumstances, succumbed and saved the day for all. Day two, an angry Engineer Rasheed made valiant bid to barge inside the civil secretariat with his supporters. If gossip boys are to be believed, Rasheed wanted assembly to apologize to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
He was hurt that J&K assembly whose "Autonomy" resolution was thrown into the dustbin did not discuss demand for Afzal Guru's clemency. Sleepy Congress woke up and wanted bad boys of BJP to leave the house forever. They wanted them out of the assembly for having cross-voted. PDP preferred silence. Amid the hullabaloo, Afzal Guru resolution was a dead letter now.
Outside the assembly, not to believe but a crow was heard singing a song "Golmal hai bhai, Golmal hai". Inside the cafeteria, a bearded man heaved a sigh of relief. "Thanks to almighty! This non-sense is over. Atleast, now some public issues especially those related to appointments would come up for discussion." This bearded man was not a politician but a well-connected businessman.
Kebabs, Goshtabas, Yakhni was what made the dinner of almost all those who wrestled over Afzal Guru for more than an hour. All ate and kept concluding their discussion with "…..aaj din acha nikal gaya…..hum nye dikha diya….hum nye bata diya….yaar ab to mera minister banna tey hai……" Apart from vegetarians, those who missed this yummy dinner included Engineer Abdul Rasheed.
He is learnt to have kept fast. But Rasheed should have a big heart to know that Afzal Guru stands alone in the long list of world famous personalities. He has fetched more headlines than any other living legend including little master Sachin Tendulkar. Guru's hangman has been waiting since 2004 for the day when he would be star of almost all the news channels but the day is unlikely to arrive soon.
