National Conference workers bewildered after colleague's mysterious death
10/3/2011 12:23:37 AM

Jammu, Oct 2 : After the mysterious death of their colleague Syed Mohammad Yousef who was the darling of chief minister Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq Abdullah till the day he died, the National Conference workers are stupefied.
The are also unable to respond to the volley of questions being asked by the common people as to how and why one of their colleagues died after he visited the chief minister's residence?
A senior party leader told this journalist over phone, that the party cadres across the state were being ridiculed by the common people as to why and how one of their colleagues died in mysterious circumstances.
"Fact is that even we people who are close to power corridors are completely unaware of the factual story about how a person died after visiting those who loved him till yesterday like any thing," said senior party leader whishing anonymity. Further commenting on
deceased's relations with party leaders chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah , he said , the deceased was not just a block president of the party , but he was such an influential that he managed party tickets for many in the past assembly election . His
proximity with chief minister and his father can be gauged with the fact that District President of party in Ganderbal Mohammad Yousef Bhat was forced to pay him huge amount nearing a crore to get the MLC's berth. It means the deceased was so close to chief minister that even a person who was district president and in charge of chief minister's constituency felt that his fate was in the hands of Syed Mohammad Yousef.
The senior NC leader also said the proximity of chief minister with the deceased can be gauged from an
other instance. He was called to the CM's residence by MOS home, Nasir Aslam Wani. This suggests the deceased was very close to chief minister.
"If he would have been an ordinary person the chief minister would have directly directed the police chief to book the person who was cheating people in his name. But, instead, chief minister brought him to his
private office and tried to get the matter resolved amicable. God knows what happened later and in which condition he was handed over to crime police where he died as per police claim."
Only a fair, transparent and speedy probe can bring out the facts relating to this unfortunate incident. The credibility and image of the party's leadership will hang in precarious balance till the truth is unearthed.
