One month long “Swachhata Utsav” begins in Kishtwar.

Kishtwar October 2:- On the eve of the Gandhi Jayanti, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik along with senior officials of various department of District Kishtwar launched one month long “Swachhata Utsav (Cleanness Drive)” from Bus Stand Kishtwar, which will concludes on 4th of November,2011. During cleanness drive deputy commissioner Kishtwar aware the general public about the importance of cleanness in and around his area. He issued warning to shopkeepers, vendors and Dabha wallas to keep the surrounding area neat and clean and incase of failure, he directed Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kishtwar to impose fine on the violators. He also directed Khilaf Varzi inspector to keep an eye on construction work and directed him not to allow people to dump garbage or construction material outside their homes. He also directed staff of Municipal committee to keep dustbin of Municipal Committee neat and clean and also instructed them to spread insecticides after collecting the dumped material from these dustbins, so that harmful deceases could be prevented from spreading. As a leader of the team, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar along with senior officers of District Kishtwar/sweepers from Municipal Committee Kishtwar himself cleans a portion of road near bus stand Kishtwar. Mr. Malik said that he had passed such similar direction to the officers of Block/Panchayat level to promote the “Swachhata Utsav” in their respective area so that people get awareness about the importance of cleanness. He urged upon the people not to throw waste material on roads/Lain and drains so that we will be able to make our city neat and clean. He also urged upon the people to cooperate with the employees involved in cleanness drive so that the aims and objective of organizing “Swachhata Utsav” could be achieved.
