| Soz urges workers to serve people honestly | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Oct 2 (KNS): Pradesh Congress Committee President and MP Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz Sunday urged the Congress workers to strengthen the party and commit themselves to serve people honestly.
Addressing workers at the Party headquarter here on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Prof Soz urged them to adopt Gandhian way of life to the best of their ability ‘as Gandhi’s philosophy of life has become most relevant in today’s world.’
“Prof. Soz quoted two sayings of Gandhi. One relating to adoption of the straight path of behavior which was as difficult as it was simple and crux of the saying was that even though the straight path was difficult it has to be adopted. The other advice of Gandhi was to seek peoples’ attention to the fact that there is enough available for peoples’ need; but not enough for people’s greed. The meaning of this saying is that people have not to be greedy; but should always adopt simple and dignified life,” he said.
Prof Soz acknowledged that corruption was at its peak in the state. “We have to unitedly fight against this menace,” he saiid
Earlier senior Congress leader and Minister for PHE, Irrigational and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-Din paid rich tributes to Gandhi.
Others who spoke and paid tributes to Gandhi included Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, Senior Vice President, Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Abdul Majid Padder Vice Presidents, Khem Lata Wakhloo, Chuni Lal Bhat General Secretaries, Mohammad Sharief Niaz MLA, Mohammad Sultan Mundo, Farooq Andrabi, Indu Pawar MLA, Abdul Gani Khan, Anayatullah Rather, Shiekh Ishfaq, Mir Mushtaq Nowsherry, Aftab Ahmad Beigh, Master Mohammad Maqbool District Presidents, Shafeeq Shabnam, Shameema Raina Vice President Mahila Congress and Abdul Rehman Magrey.
