| Collective efforts needed to free society from TB: Sham | | TB Association organizes 62nd TB Seal Sale campaign | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, OCTOBER 02- To mark the 142nd Gandhi Jayanti, the District TB Association Jammu organized a function here at RRL, Canal Road, Jammu.
On the occasion, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr Sham Lal Sharma who was the chief guest inaugurated the 62nd TB Seal, Sale Campaign.
Chairman, TB Control Society, Jammu and District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Mr Sanjeev Verma, Director Health Service, Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar, Director, NRHM, Dr Yash Paul Sharma, Director Horticulture, Mr J L Sharma, Director Floriculture, Mr K K Sharma, Drug Controller Jammu, Mr Satish Gupta, Medical Superintendants, CMOs, BMOs, Tuberculosis Officer, Mrs Poonam Mahajan, Doctors, Para-medicos, NGO’s, ASHA Workers, prominent citizens and students of various schools were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Mahatma was an apostle of peace whose message of ahimsa and non-violence assumes greater relevance today when the world is faced with growing intolerance and the cult of violence. He said that today on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti of Mahatma ‘we all bow our heads in respect to give a tribute to Father of the Nation and repeat our commitment to provide the basic sanitary facilities to the poor and slum people.
Listing remarkable achievements in the health care and DOTs implemented programme, the Minister said that with the sincere efforts of doctors and NGOs from bottom to top both the sector have witnessed massive improvement in implementation of various central and state government schemes and the results thereof are highly positive . He said that modernization of health care and introduction of new technique in medical science was the priority of the government.
