Wildlife week begins in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 2: Kicking off week long celebrations on the eve of Wildlife Week, Department of Wildlife Protection held a nature tour of school children in the famous Jasrota wildlife Sanctuary in Shivalik range near Kathua today.
Students from various schools of Jasrota village and its surrounding areas alongwith their teachers participated in the Nature Tour. They trekked about three kilometres along the nature trails inside the sanctuary along with officials of wildlife department and sanctuary staff.
Rishipal Range Officer Jasrota Wildlife Sanctuary read out the Do’s and Don’ts of precautionary measures for averting man-animal conflict. Subhash Sharma teacher, Madan Magotra,and Bashasher Singh Sarpanch Bakhta also interacted and spoke on the occasion. Prominent among others who participated in this programme included Jagdish Singh Sarpanch Amala, Kashori Singh, Rashpal Singh, Dr. Abdul Majeed, Rauf Ahmed and Abdul Lateef Head Assistant were the Judges of the programme.
