| Anganwadi workers hold convention | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 2: A day long joint convention of Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers was held today in Gandhinagar Jammu.
General Secretary of All India Federation of Anganwadi workers and Helpers and National Secretary of CITU Com. K Hemalata was Chief Guest in this programme. Com. Om Parkash General Secretary, Sham Prasad Kesar state treasurer, Romesh Chand, Joint Secretary and J agdish Chander, State Secretariat member also addressed the convention besides other leaders of Asha and Anganwadi unions.
Com.K Hemalata while addressing the convention said that Anganwadi workers and helpers, the grass root workers of the ICDS scheme should be entitled to decent living. Their immediate demands include payment of gratuity of RS. l Lakh for the workers and 50000 for helpers, who are being thrown out of service on reaching the age of 58 without a single paisa.
