| ReT teachers allegedly appointed on fake documents, probe nowhere | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 2: Much acclaimed Sarvya Shiksha Abhiyaan, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), was arm twisted by those at the helm of affairs.
CSS was launched to benefit the less educated and illiterate in the remote areas in the year 2002 and the term of its continuance was for 10 years but the state government has reportedly extended it for one more year for the welfare of people of the state.
Only those could be appointed as Rehber-i-Taleem teachers who have qualified 10+2, but in order to extend undue benefit to those who were not even matriculates, were asked to manage higher qualification certificates from out of state bogus institutes. On the basis of these certificates, the authority with panel of teachers entertained qualification certificates to confer appointments to the undeserving and one can easily peep through the key hole of the doors of offices subverting the existing rules enshrined vide rule 288 which holds 10+2 as mandatory qualification.
Former principal of government school in Bhalwal bock reportedly kept silence to the disadvantage of middle rung teachers who facilitated induction as RTI without verification of the credentials of qualification degrees. This is not an isolated case where crooks have sneaked in government services on fallacious grounds.
Even the matter pertaining to two Sub-Inspectors of police came to the fore who lost their service on the count and are also facing charges in the courts of law. Some irregularities also surfaced in the functioning of ZEOs of Poonch. The incident is an eye opener and the appropriate steps are wantonly important to wake up from deep slumber as deserving ones are deprived of their due at the hands of those who fail to discharge their duties for which they are paid for.
A trivial and sincere effort by those at the helm of affairs can overcome such dares of misinformation which lead to stifle the real spirit of CSS which are candidly framed but are implemented viciously. If the verification of eligibility documents is done at appropriate level, clandestine appointments on fake degrees will certainly make their appearance. Move will exquisite misdoings and malice on the part of those who can not refrain from doing illogical out of spirited centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
