Powergrid commissions Mundra ‘UMPP Transmission System’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, October 3: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a Navratna PSE under Ministry of Power and the Central Transmission Utility of the country, has commissioned the transmission system for evacuation of power from the first Ultra Mega Power Project in the country at Mundra, in Gujarat. The system commissioned consists of high capacity Mundra-Bachau-Ranchodpura 400 kV Double circuit line along with 630 MVA Bachau 400/220 kV sub-station, part of the transmission system associated with Mundra UMPP being implemented by Powergrid at an estimated cost of about Rs 5,000 Crore. About 770 ckm. transmission line has been commissioned in challenging conditions like passing through tough terrains in creek area of Arabian Sea, severe right of way problems, excessive water logging due to heavy rains, etc.
