Navratra festival in full swing at Katra

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 03- Katra town is buzzed with festivities during ongoing Navratra Festival being organized by Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Tourism department in coordination with District Administration, Reasi and local associations of the town.
On the 5th day of the Navratra Festival, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla who was the chief guest on the occasion lit the sacred Jyoti at Asia Crossing Katra last evening.
Among other Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Mr. P.K. Pole and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Dr. M.K. Bhandari were accompanied the chief guest.
The colourful procession being organised by Cultural Association, Katra which comprised of number of tableaus showcasing a glimpse of our rich culture and traditions after passing through main locations of the Katra town, finally culminated at Higher Secondary School, Katra. Large number of pilgrims, prominent citizens, Navratra celebration committee members and senior officers participated in the procession.
Mr. Raman Bhalla also lit the traditional lamp at the venue of the All India Devotional Song Competition and praised the organizers of the event for providing platform to the Budding singers. Ms. Bhavana Shonka from Jammu, Mr. Noor Jolly from Patiala & Ms. Anju Shah from Reasi adjudged 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively among the 16 participants adjudged by panel of experts from music Prof. Music & renowned Dogri Singer, Smt. Anupama Sharma, Ex. Principle Institute of Music and Fine Art, Mr. Vachaspati Sharma Ex.Programme Executive Radio Kashmir Jammu, Mr.Parduman Singh. Mr. Rakesh Wazir conducts the proceeding of the Competition.
The functionaries of Sewa Bharti, Katra were seen extending their services voluntarily at the free Langer setup for the organizers and participants of Navratra Festival.
At Government Higher Secondary School, Katra huge rush of audience were seen watching colourful cultural programme by Song and Drama Division, Government of India.
