Pak told not to feed terror wild animal
10/3/2011 10:28:18 PM
Though the rate of infiltration bids and elimination of infiltrators has considerably declined Pakistan is yet to modify its policy on Kashmir.Official sources said that as many as 25 infiltration bids were foiled by the Indian troops guarding the LOC and the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir in which 20 infiltrators, including five in Machel sector, were killed during the last two months was on a much lower side than the one registered between May end and July 2005.During that time as many as 40 infiltration bids were foiled in which 112 militants were killed.Senior Army functionaries are of the opinion that training camps for militants were still functional in the hinterlands of Pakistan and occupied Kashmir and whenever groups of youths complete the arms training they are brought on the launching pads across the LOC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir.
This is what one of the six infiltrators, belonging to Lashkar-i-Toiba,has revealed to the Army interrogators. The militant was arrested while his five associates were killed when the group attempted at crossing into he Kashmir valley from across the Machel sector in Keran area on Sunday. The arrested militant has told the interrogators that they were brought in vehicles from the training camp to the border and were left on the launching pads by the Pakistani soldiers. These very soldiers had helped them in crossing into the Indian territory after they were given sufficient food items, money and weapons besides ammunition. The revelation has clearly unfolded that infiltration from across the LOC or the IB cannot be possible without adequate support from the Pak Army.It is in this context that the GOC,Lt.Gen.S.A.Husnain,has stated that Pakistan has not changed its policy on Kashmir and its terror infrastucture was intact and was being used to kick up violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
Even Washington has expressed concern over the existence of terrorist groups in Pakistan that continue to infiltrate into Kashmir for kicking subversive violence not only in the border state but in India too.The US has cautioned Islamabad against its serious strategic error by supporting terrorist outfits.Washington has,in its own interest, conveyed to Islamabad that it should not believe that it can keep a wild animal in the backyard and it will only ago after its neighbour(India) which is not usually possible.Washington has conveyed a sound suggestion to Islamabad which merits attention. The American Government has voiced concerned over growing instability in Pakistan and it is in this connection that Washington is keen to initiate measures that may help the process of stabilisation of Pakistan against the internal threat.Side by side Washington has vowed to prevent any terror attack emanating from the soil of Pakistan. This way the American Government has cautioned Pakistan against feeding and rearing the wild animal of terror which,if left, unchecked could lead to Pakistan's destabilisation
