CAPD conducts surprise inspection | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, OCTOBER 04- To keep a check on rates and quality of essential commodities during Navratras, a team of officers of CA & PD and Legal Metrology Department headed by Assistant Commissioner (G) Jammu conducted surprise Market checking of various areas of Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Partapgarh and Panjwakhtar road, Jammu. During the inspection, 12 shopkeepers were booked under weight and Measures Act besides various dhabbawallas, sweet shops, fruit, vegetable and provision stores were also inspected. As many as, 24 shopkeepers, who have not displayed the rates, were charging the higher rates and were using domestic cylinders for commercial purposes were fined on spot and an amount of Rs. 20,100/- was recovered from them. The Shopkeepers were further directed to display rate lists properly at each item of commodity, if they again found charging higher rates, using domestic cylinders for commercial purpose, stern action shall be taken against them as warranted under rules.
