Apple Kids celebrates `Dandia Festival’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Sports & Allied News JAMMU, Oct 04: Apple Kids International Pre-School today organized “Dandia Festival” on the eve of Ramnavmi, in an attempt to make the younger generations aware about the traditional values and customs, at the school premises at Laxmipuram in Bantalab here today. Girls clad in lehnga-choli and boys in sherwani danced on the dandia numbers to celebrate the occasion. In addition, young students performed cultural programme. Dressed in specially designed costumes depicting Goddess Sita, God Rama, Lakshman and Hanumana, the participants attracted the attention of everyone witnessing the function. The students were also briefed about the importance of the festival of Ramnavmi by the Principal of the school, Puja Sharma. Later, the participants in Dandia dance were given away prizes by the Directors of the School, Rahul Sharma and Ramesh Khajuria. Speaking to the students, the Directors laid stress on celebrating the festival of all religions with enthusiasm and fervor.
