| 'Mamas' Day Out' celebrated with fanfare | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 4:'Mamas' Day Out' was celebrated with great fanfare today to express the joys of ‘Dandia Utsav’.
The festivities began with an invocation to 'Ma Dugra 'performed by the students of the kindergarten section: This was followed by a 'Marathi Gondal' dance dedicated to 'Ma Ambe'. A foot-tapping dandiya dace showcased by students of 3rd, 4th & 5th received a resounding applause of the audience present. The main highlight of this event was a Dandiya dance performed on a medley of songs by the mothers of the students. Indeed the mothers swayed in rhythm to the lilting music of the Dandiya beats. The whole show was anchored by the students of Junior School.
The main idea behind this whole event was to educate the children about the significance of Navratras and to inculcate cultural and devotional values in them. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Head boy and Head girl of Junior School.
The Headmistress, Sofia Rana thanked the parents, students and staff for putting up such a memorable event. The parents appreciated 'the efforts of students and staff alike.
