People await eagerly interlocutors' report | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, October 5 : Each segment of people in Jammu and Kashmir awaits the final report of the three interlocutors who are expected to submit it to the Union Home Minister by October 12. Official sources today said that the interlocutors, despite differences on some issues, were giving final to the voluminous report. While the National Conference and the PDP leadership were seen waiting to know whether their demand for greater autonomy and self-rule had some manifestations in the report or not. As far as the people in the Jammu region are concerned they are keenly awaiting the release of the report so that they are able to know whether the interlocutors have recommended measures for resolving the problem of regional discrimination. They wish to know if the interlocutors have recommended increase in the Assembly seats for the region of Jammu. While political leaders in the Kashmir valley are eager to know whether the report of the interlocutors will address both the internal and external dimensions of the Kashmir issue, those belonging to the families of displaced Kashmiri Pandits keep their fingers crossed. They are keenly awaiting the report in order to find out what stand the interlocutors have taken on their(Pandits') demand for a homeland for the displaced people within the Kashmir valley. Knowledgeable circles said that the interlocutors have opted for avoiding commenting on the homeland demand which they have been told could undermine the very roots of regional integration. One thing is certain the interlocuters may recommend a suitable package for the displaced people
