| Security beefed up around N-installations: Govt | | |
New Delhi, July 31: Government today said in the Lok Sabha that it has put in place "special security measures" around all nuclear installations in the country saying the threat has been taken "very seriously". "Special security measures have been taken and more are under consideration to prevent any such attempt from succeeding," Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said responding to members' concern during Zero Hour.
Members, including Leader of the Opposition L K Advani, wanted Government's response on the issue in the wake of National Security Advisor M K Narayanan's statement that Lashkar-e-Toiba was planning strikes on critical installations in the country. |
