| Hassaya Vayang contest concludes | | Atri adjudged best comedian | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA, Oct 5:Sanjeev Atri of Pathankote was adjudged as best comedian in the most sought after event of the Navratra festival captioned as “Hassaya Vayang Pratiyogita”. The final of the contest was held at Durga Bhawan.
A cash prize amounting to Rs.25000 was awarded to Atri for his extra ordinary performance in the comedy stage show organized as part of festival by the Hassaya Vayang Manch, Katra with active support of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and State Tourism Department.
Atri, a performing stage and television actor gave a thrilling performance in the jam packed premises of the venue and made everyone to burst into bumps of laughter. Kewel Kumar Kewel of tehsil Akhnoor ( Jammu) and Mintu of Amritsar were adjudged 2nd and 3rd in the contest and awarded cash prizes amounting to Rs 10000 and 5000 respectively, whereas the consolation prize was given to Madan Lal Kunda of Garhi Udhampur.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, PK Pole was the chief guest, while as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, Rash Paul Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The final day of the Laughter Show was predominately focused upon the social evils like drug addictions, dowry, westernization etc.
After going through preliminary round, 14 participants were short listed to perform in the semi final of which only ten were selected to exhibit their talent in the mega final.
