| High alert ahead of Dusshera celebrations | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, October 5: Ahead of Dusshera celebrations the state police has tightened security across all the crowded market places in and across Jammu region.
The state policemen are regularly taking patrols along the route of the Dusshera shobha yatra in the old city area to ensure incident free celebrations.
Tight vigil is being maintained across the crowded market places from mounted platforms.CCTV footage is also being regularly monitored to keep an eye on the movement of suspected people.
Thousands of people flock old city area of Parade ground to witness the Dusshera and the police authorities are taking help of central paramilitary force to ensure fool proof security arrangements at the venue of the celebrations.
Few days ago the senior state police officials had also carried out detailed review of the security apparatus in view of the long festive season directing the junior officials to beef up the security through out the festive season.
"The jawans of the state police are on high alert and besides carrying out random checks of tinted vehicles, also frisking passengers and keeping a tight watch on the movement of outsiders staying across all the hotels", a senior police officer said.
