Govt harping on cardiac arrest theory of Syed Yousuf | Can it be absolved of crime of 'harassment ' that caused heart attack…? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5: Ruling NC, Chief Minister and his administration is harping on the theory of cardiac arrest with regard to death of Syed Yousuf in custody as a 'tool' to save skin from any involvement in the crime that has shook the state and political scenario. Pending a judicial inquiry under which the government, NC and CM intends to take refuge, at least for now as a 'breather', even as that theory is deemed as true, but one is prompted to ask few questions which arise from this 'make believe' fold of the story as well. Much before the judicial probe, truth has started coming out about the ugly episode not only about the circumstances and events that led to death of deceased but also about deep rooted practices of corruption and bribing for acquiring political posts and positions. Howver, the thrust at present of the family of the deceased, political parties remains on the events and acts that led to death of a hale and hearty person who was perfectly fit hours before he had the fateful meeting at CM's residence. The death of NC's most powerful worker for reasons apparent and revelations that are coming to fore are being construed as 'murder' in foul manner and for even more foul intent. The moot question about the cardiac arrest version which even senior officers in the administration and Police took pride in placing in front of the media the other day after post mortem report is that how and Yousf suffered massive cardiac arrest and what shape things took place that left this man in a condition that he was even unable to walk or talk when he along with other two persons were bundled in the police van to Crime Branch Headquarters. It is certainly some extreme levels of harassment and agony, if not any physical torture (if CM and his team are to be believed) that deteriorated the condition of Yousuf within minutes he left CM's residence. According to eyewitness account Salam Reshi, he first vomited badly and was in terrible condition, not even able to speak in the van, which makes one to conclude that he faced something ugly and foul that led him to such deteriorated condition. The point in argument is that even if the government derives some solace from projecting it as death by cardiac arrest, isn't that a crime and only crime…? It is because that too happened under some circumstances, particularly during the meeting, which certainly cannot be construed and deciphered as pleasant, instead its opposite. One is prompted to ask why loss of a human life for whatever reason ……..if it can happen to a person as close a family person with the powers that be what can be fate of a common man and even those who wield some influence because if the government means to settle scores and harm anyone, the fallout will not even raise any eyebrows nor will government allow any projection of the matter, given the acts of harassment and intimidation on record. The ugly and foul aspects of those circumstances sends shivers down the spine of all such people who have faced similar victimization at the hands of NC led coalition government during the last three years, yet survived somehow. One such bizarre victimization is fresh in memory of Jammu when last year Police at the instructions of government made all out attempts to harass one business family at the hands of the land grabbers in area which was all 'stage managed' act of crime just to damage and harm the family economically. Needless to say, for any business family, the money comes not all of a sudden or from any treasure. It is hard earned and toiling for a year that makes some capital and assets. The government left no stone unturned to harm these one upon the other and Police without valid reason or cases continued intimidating actions with all commercial establishments. The tactics of the Police could well have resulted in an incident that came to fore and got exposed, unfortunately for the Government. Call it will of the Almighty or perseverance and endurance of the family, government did not succeed in its intents. |
