| Tragedy averted, hideout busted in Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR: A tragedy was averted and a hideout was busted in the Kashmir valley, official sources said here this afternoon.
They said a live grenade was found in a nallah near forest of Kandhar Koligam village in the frontier district of Kupwara.
The grenade was later defused without causing any damage, they said.
On a specific information police and 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) conducted a search operation in the woods at Dever, Kupwara.
During the searches, a militant hideout was unearthed, they said, adding a large cache of arms and ammunition including one grenade, ten AK-47 magazines, 270 rounds of ammunition and two wireless sets were recovered.
