Army want Delhi to persuade Pak to dismantle training camps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 6:Senior Army functionaries are said to have suggested to New Delhi to persuade Islamabad for dismantling all the 42 guerrilla training camps that are being run in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir. Official sources said that the LoC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir will continue to remain tension ridden till these arms training were not dismantled. Sources said that though the Indian troops, guarding the LoC and the IB, have taken in hand all possible measures for foiling infiltration bids by groups of militants the possibility of small groups of militants sneaking into the Indian territory cannot be ruled out. Even if five to 15 militants cross into Jammu and Kashmir from across the LOC per month it could defeat all the measures that were being implemented for dismantling the terror infrastructure within the state. Reports said that between 700 and 800 militants, equipped with highly sophisticated weapons, have been brought on the launch pads across the LOC and the IB for the purpose of crossing into Jammu and Kashmir. It is in this connection that New Delhi has been told by the Army experts that it should make forthcoming talks with Islamabad focussed on the need for lifting all the 800 militants from the launch pads across the LOC. New Delhi is also being suggested to convey to Islamabad that it will suspend the bilateral dialogue process if the guerrilla training camps were not closed and the Army was not given strict instructions on preventing militants from moving upto the zero line of the border. Experts said that not even a single militant can walk up to the zero line for infiltrating into Jammu and Kashmir without assistance from the Pakistani soldiers deployed across the LOC and the IB
