GOC Chinar Corps interacts with children

JAMMU, Oct 6:In order to provide an opportunity to the Ladakhi children to know about the cultural diversity, grandeur and economic development of our country, a motivational tour to Srinagar, Jammu, Chandigarh and Dharamshala was flagged off from Biamah in which 25 students accompanied by two teachers of Batalik region participated.
The tour began with a visit to Srinagar, the scenic city of lakes. The children visited Nishat Garden, Shankarancharya Mandir, Chashma Shahi and the Ibadat-e-Shahadat Museum in Badami Bagh Cantonment. The children visited Amar Mahal and Bagh-e-Bahu in Jammu, in Chandigarh, the children witnessed weapons and equipment display by Army and visited Fun Republic Mall and Sukhna Lake. During their visit to Dharamshala the children visited Macleodganj and War Memorial. The young inhabitants of the mountain ranges of Ladakh who remain confined to the region in harsh winters were spell bound by the exposure provide to them through the tour. On their return today the children had an opportunity to interact with Lieutenant General SA Hasnain, GOC Chinar Corps and Sabiha Hasnain at Badami Bagh Cantonment. The GOC, Chinar Corps encouraged the children to grow up with open minds and actively participate in the process of nation building. Such visits and interaction with large cross section of the society have enabled the Army to help bring about a significant attitudinal awakening amongst a vast majority of the population, wherein there is a constant yearning for peace and development. The children were enchanted by their maiden outside Batalik and it was an experience which they will cherish throughout their life.
