GGPEP organised rally on wildlife protection | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 6:Global Green Peace & Environmental Protection in association with Wild Life department organised a rally on protection of wildlife at village Gharana. The rally was flagged off by Thair Shawal Warden Wild Life Protection, Jammu. In the rally, 80 students from different schools of zone RS Pura took active part to aware the masses about importance of wildlife as well as of the wetland Gharana in our life. Speaking on the occasion, Davinder Choudhary said that International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has estimated that approximately three species are being extinct every hour due to increasing pollution. Due to the destruction of their natural habitat, one out of every four mammalian species is facing the problem of extinction. It includes chimpanzee and elephants. One out of every eight species of bird; every of third amphibian and 70% of the plant are facing extinction. According to on estimate, three would be no surviving frog species by 2038. Prize distribution was organized on spot by Ranger Wetland Gharana in which Ist prize was won by Sheetal Verma of GGPEP, 2nd prize shared by Seema Chowdhary of GGPEP and Seema Devi of Model Public School Samka and 3rd prize goes to Priya Meenia of Govt. Middle School Gouper Bhasti and one consolation prize goes to Tanvi Chowdhary of Govt Middle School Gharana.
