Abdul Salam Reshi, who has given his statement in writing to IG Crime, spoke to Times Now yesterday. Reshi said he (Yusuf) had talked directly to Dr Farooq and he had demanded Rs one Crore for the big job and Rs 50 lakhs for the small job. Yusuf said he had paid Rs 85 lakh to Dr Farooq and 15 lakh were remaining." While elaborating Reshi said: "Big job means getting a ministerial berth for a favourite and small job means appointing a persona s MLC. Small job, Reshi said, costs Rs 50 lakhs. In his statement Reshi has said he wanted to get a big job done and accordingly paid Rs 35 lakh in February. However, he got a portion of money back after a couple of days. "Rest I have left to God", he said. Reshi intends to make a detailed statement in the court when the trial begins. "It will be good for me", he said. However, he disclosed excerpts of the conversation between Yusuf and Omar Abdullah on September 29-the day when Yusuf died mysteriously allegedly in Crime Branch custody. "On September 29, Yusuf told Omar that he could not give the money until Dr Farooq Abdullah returns", he said. Yusuf was one of the few persons who had access to `kitchen cabinet' of the National Conference. Insiders believe the major decisions of the NC are taken by the kitchen cabinet (Sheikh Family). |
