| CJ receives letter about fake encounter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, October-07 (JNF):- A letter written to Chief Justice of J&K High Court by a practicing lawyer of Surankote District Poonch seeking CBI enquiry in fake encounter which took place on the intervening night of 6/7 August, 2011 in which a SPO and a territorial army Jawan gunned down an innocent and insane civilian and Hari Forest in Surankote and later dubbed him as Lashkar-e-Toiba District Commander Abu Usman of Gujranwala, Pakistan to get promotion and cash rewards.
In the letter Advocate Yasir Sarfraz disclosed that duo had picked this insane person from Gujjar Mandi Rajouri and later decided to eliminate him in fake encounter for extraneous considerations.
It is further submitted in the letter that the Tehsil Surankote is militancy infested and there is huge presence of security forces in the area. Earlier there have been encounters and massacres also but the present incident has not been accepted by the people that only the two persons are involved in this fake encounter. In the letter it has been disclosed that it was only during the medical examination of the deceased was established that he was not a Muslim and all out efforts were initially made hush-up this matter but since it came in public domain followed by media. The police had no option accept to arrest both the culprits and order to thorough investigation and seeking CBI investigation of the instant case so that real culprits are dealt under law. JNF
