‘ Recent events demand resignation of Omar’ : JSM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, October 7: Professor Virender Gupta, H B KHajuria, the senior vice-president issued a joint statement on the issue related to the death of Syed Yousaf Shah, a N C worker. As per the statement they have stated that the recent episode concerning National Conference, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and the death of a N C worker, Syed Yousaf Shah under mysterious circumstances exposes the corruption prevailing in our political system. They said that the revelation made by Abdul Salam Reshi about the payments made by him and by Mohmmad Yousaf to N C leadership through Sayed Yousuf Shah, a N C worker and a close lieutenant of Abdullah’s family to get seat for the legislative council is a matter of great slur on our democratic system for which India and the Indians feel proud of. The events related to cross voting by the MLAs and MPs, voting against the cash in the assemblies and in the parliament, the ugly scenes presented in the parliament/legislature assemblies by the MPs and MLAs is a wake up call for the people of this country and the intelligentsia, in particular, to ponder upon the direction to which the present system is leading us. They said that it is time for the people of this country to strengthen the movement launched by Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev for cleaning the system and bring a complete change in the present set up. That is the only way to get rid of the present rotten and dishonest system. The recent events in Jammu and Kashmir demands the resignation of Omar Abdullah as chief minister, and that of Farooq Abdullah as a cabinet minister in the union cabinet.
