AG office unnecessary harassing retiring employees: Sharma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 7:Anti-corruption activist and President PHE Employees Welfare Association Om Parkash Sharma has expressed grave concern over deductions made by the Principal Accountant General J&K from the retirement benefits of the retiring employees of the PHE department. Addressing a meeting here today, Sharma said that the retiring employees brought to his notice that some hundred employees have been suffering from illegal deductions from their retirement benefits and requested him to take up the matter with the concerned authority to refund the amounts deducted from their retirement benefits. Sharma informed the retiring employees that he had already taken up the matter with the Executive Engineer PHE on July 5 and the same has been forwarded to the Principal Accountant General J&K for necessary action, but he has not taken any action in the matter despite a reminder to him on September 1. Sharma said that Principal Accountant General J&K office is unnecessary harassing the retiring employees by putting illegal objections. He appealed the Principal Accountant General office to remove the objections in respect of those retiring employees who are covered under SRO 149.
