BKU members protest against rly ticket checkers, police | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 07: Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) members protested at the railway station
here today against ticket checkers and police, alleging harassment by them. Police sources said some ticket checkers stopped BKU women members while they
were going out of the railway platform to prepare food. When the ticket checkers asked them to show their tickets, they told them that several
BKU activists had come here and the tickets were with male members, the sources
added, saying it led to heated arguments between the two sides. Sources said when the male members came to know about it, they held a strong
protest, alleging that the women had been manhandled by ticket checkers who had
police support. The demonstration continued from 2 pm to 3.30 pm. Later, Bhagwat Prasad Dwivedi,
BKU president of Reva, Madhya Pradesh, lodged a written complaint with government
railway police in this regard.
