| Tainted Congress minister rises to defend Omar Abdullah | | | Jammu, Oct 7 : It is very interesting to note that some of the most tainted ministers in the Congress party are the first to come to the defence of the chief minister Omar Abdullah in the custodial death of NC worker Haji Mohammad Yusuf on 30 September after he left the residence of the chief minister in a critical state of health.
One senior minister of the Congress in the NC-Congress alliance has most vocally defended Omar Abdullah. The minister said he totally and completely believes the version of the chief minister rather than any version given by the eye witness who categorically said the deceased NC worker had clearly told Omar Abdullah that Rs. 85 lacs taken from Mohammad Yusuf Bhat of Ganderbal had been paid to Omar's father.
The minister has been eyeing the top job in the state for quite some time and the predicament of the chief minister in the present custodial mess comes handy for the minister. By defending the chief minister the minister is now standing bravely behind the weak Omar Abdullah because he can mould and twist a wax nose, unfortunately this time of none other than the chief minister. |
