CM's ' clean up, transparency' claims in NC | Will he look into other complaints of 'bluffing' on money …..? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 7 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a bid to come clean on the controversy on summoning the party Syed Yousuf at this residence before handing him over to Police has been contending that he did so to corroborate the allegations of money having changed hands which maligned the image of the party. His contention is still enveloped in the controversies and mysteries which will be unfolded in due passage, may be with the probe government is banking upon at this juncture. The moot question remains will the Chief Minister now look into such other similar money matters within his own party or indulged in by the leaders of repute associated for a long with his party which have only brought bad name and disrepute to the NC . A positive aspect of the whole imbroglio government and NC , mainly the high command is embedded in at present is that Chief Minister did invite deceased and other two workers who had lodged the complaints of huge money 'transfer' and according to CM and his other colleagues, he wanted to question the trio and establish the truth in the allegations himself because it involved the name and prestige of the party . Be that as it may and let's not rule out the intention of the Chief Minister categorically in that direction. As by doing so he has set up a sort of a good precedence and deterrence as well that he is not going to tolerate murky things related to money matters as far as his party or leaders of his party are concerned. But the Chief Minister himself knows that all is not clean and transparent and there are dozens and scores of such matters in which NC leaders, if not the high command iteself have been involved in either duping many a business establishments or smaller private parties from which they have sought the services and benefits and never paid the money for the same, not even the bare minimum costs accrued on getting those services. Cm's attitude in being prompt in trying to verify truth and reality and drag the guilty to police have only provided small hope to such people and business establishments that are waiting for their hard earned money to be paid sooner or later. Not to mention few or all, there is one instance of a small fry having been 'duped' of the money he ought have been paid three years upon legislative assembly elections. Prominent NC leader who contested from Bhaderwah Aslam Goni got his election material, posters etc printed through a prominent name in Jammu University who recently managed to get his name accommodated in BCCI functionaries for J&K . The latter, apparently on the basis of proximity with the NC leader and perhaps to oblige him got this huge business of election stationary printed from a private party with the assurance that expenditure on bills which included fuel charges would be paid. But that was not to be. Till date poor person has not been paid the charges for the election material he got printed for NC leader through JU guy, close to power circles particular NC. The amount is no less but as huge as Rs 65,000. Despite many reminders and requests during the 3 years these have fallen on deaf years of the person from University, a prestigious academic institution who literally worked as an 'agent' for the NC leader in the elections. Goni lost the Assembly election, much to the misfortune of the party which bore heavy expenses on election material. Had Goni won the polls, may be money would have been paid to poor chap. But that is nowhere the criteria and basis of seeking services never to be paid in turn. May the Chief Minister look into this complaint in waiting for years now for redressal now…..? |
