Jammu. Oct 8: Bhim Singh, chairman, National Panthers Party accompanied by several Panthers Party leaders resorted to one-day fast at Jantar Mantar today in support of the demand of the party to hand over the investigation of the death of Yusuf Haji in custody in Kashmir on 29th September, 2011.
The Panthers Party is also demanding dismissal of Omar Abdullah’s government and imposition of Governor Rule so that an impartial and independent inquiry may be held without delay.
The chairman of the party while talking to the media persons at Jantar Mantar declared that he would knock the doors of the Supreme Court in this regard if CBI inquiry is not handed over the case immediately.
The prominent panthers party activists sitting on one-day fast include H.C. Jalmeria, advocate, general secretary, Romesh Khajuria, secretary, JKNPP, B.S. Sajan, Delhi pradesh president, Rajiv Khosla, Ajay Kumar (general secretaries), Surjeet Singh Guleria, young panthers president, Pritpal Singh, New Delhi district president, Anil Sharma, general secretary, Rajasthan Pradesh S.S. Rathi, convenor, Panthers Trade Union, PC Mehta, national secretary-NPP, Geeta Choudhary, district president, Gautam Budhnagar, Maulana Alamdar Abbas, convenor, minority cell and others.
In the meantime, a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was presented to him by a delegation of Panthers Party headed by B.S. Sajan.
