| JKRA selects team for shooting meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 08: Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association has selected a 20-member team for participation in the XXI All India GV Mavalankar Shooting (small bore Rifle and Pistol) Championship to be held at Ahmedabad in Gujarat from October 11 to October 21.
During the 10-day competition, state shooters shall compete with marksmen in the .177 Air Rifle / Air Pistol and .22 Rifle individual and team events. The competition is being conducted following the rules of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
In the said competition, the shooters will also be selected for the forthcoming national championship to be held at Pune in November. It is important to mention here that six shooters of the state have already qualified for Pune Nationals on the basis of their performance in the previous qualifying competitions. They are Digvijay Singh, Tejaswi Singh, Shivali Sagar, Sumita Devi, Mohd Gani and Vijay Kumar.
The Team: Balbir Singh, Surjeet Singh, Ranjit Chopra, Sandeep Singh Bandral, Raghav Bakshi, Vibhas Gupta, Rajinder Kumar, Sahil Sharma, Vishal Choudhary, Tarundev Singh, Lalit Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Sukhmeet Singh, Kulbir Singh, Mohan Lal and Janak Raj. Rajesh Virdhy shall accompany team as coach.
