| Sham chairs JNV’s regional culture meet | | Appreciate Vidalaya’s for imparting quality education to rural students | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, OCTOBER 08- Describing teaching fraternity architect of future, Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr. Sham Lal Sharma said that the development of high quality human resource is in the hands of teachers.
The Minister was speaking as chief guest in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Regional Cultural meet, Chandigarh, Region, Jammu at Zorawar Singh, Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
As many as, 1000 students from Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pardesh Jawahar Navodya Vidyalas participated in the programme and displayed paintings and other traditional articles in the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the efforts of Navodya Vidalaya’s for development of talented students of Rural areas by providing high quality education besides ensuring them extensive Computer Education to meet today’s educational requirements. He said that these institutions also help in promoting national integration.
Mr. Sham hoped that JNVs will continue to provide quality modern education to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas, without regard to their family’s socio-economic condition.
Mr. Sham said that such meets should be organized frequently as these help in promoting brotherhood and amity besdies providing an opportunity to students of different regions to share their culture and traditions.
Later, the minister distributed prizes among the outstanding students.
The students also presented cultural items on the occasion.
