| Rally to save Gharana | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 8:School Children of Dati Todimal Memorial Convent Higher Secondary Schoool, Ratnal organized a grand rally to save the Gharana Wetland on Saturday at Ratnal . Sunita Bangotra, principal of this school flagged off the rally which was started from School Premises and passed through various streets and concluded back at School Premises.
About 300 school children participated and raised the voice for the protection of Gharana Wetland, which is shrinking a slow pace.
Children had various message written cards, phamplets, banners in their hands to make people aware regarding the Gharana Wetland .
They were saying “ Gharana ko Bachana Hai” “ Jago Jammu ke Logo” “ Save Gharana Wetland” .
During the Rally school children also distributed the awareness posters to general public and asked them to come forward for the cause of birds protection.
In morning a painting competition on Gharana Birds was organized in the school in collaboration with Udaan International, where 60 students participated.
Principal of the DTM Convent Hr. Sec School Sunita Bangotra said that Gharana is very important place for birds and should be development with the participation of local residents of Gharana.
She said that local leader of that area should also come forward and take initiative for saving this important land.
