| HM militant killed in Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, Oct 8: Security forces today eliminated Hizbul Mujahideen militant commander in Marmat area of Doda District during wee hours of Saturday morning.
According to reports, acting on a tip off about the movement of HM militant in Marmat area, Doda police along with troops of 10 RR launched a search operation during wee hours of Saturday morning and established its contact with the militant at around 6 AM.
Police said that after establishing contact with the militant, security forces challenged him to lay down his arms, but in return, militant opened fire on the security forces with his weapon and started running for cover. Before the militant could take safe cover, security forces retaliates in which he got killed.
On identification, the slain militant was identified as Azad Hussain Wani son of Rehmattullah Wani resident of Mangota Marmat. One pistol along with two magazines was recovered from him. He was active in Doda belt since 1998 and was involved in many subversive activities across Chenab region.
