NIS, SAI, Diamond boys in semis of Kho-Kho

JAMMU, Oct 08: Semifinals line up has been drawn in boys section after NIS Club, SAI Club, Diamond Club and KV Miran Sahib made it to the last four stages in the two-day Jammu District Kho-Kho Championship got underway at Green Field ground, here today.
Now, the semifinals have been scheduled for tomorrow morning, followed by the final and prize distribution at 4.30 pm in the afternoon.
In the meantime, SAI Club has consolidated their position in girls section winning both of their league outings today.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by Deputy Director Department of Youth Services and Sports, S S Bali, who was chief guest. He encouraged the participating teams wishing them success in the competition.
Meanwhile, sharing more information, general secretary of the J&K Kho-Kho Association, Bhupinder Singh Tirthi said that the best players out of this district championship would be selected for the forthcoming Junior National Championship to be held at Indore from November nine to November 13.

District meet after 3 yrs

The J&K Kho-Kho Association is holding the Jammu district championship after a gap of three years. “We could not hold the district level competition due to financial constraints and lack of coaches in the game,” general secretary of the J&K Kho-Kho Association told SAN.

BOYS: (Quarterfinals) KV Miran Sahib bt KV Akhnoor 16-15; NIS Club bt Vijay Hero 12-03; SAI Club bt Sangam Club 07-03; Diamond Club bt KV Nagrota 05-03.
GIRLS: SAI Club bt Presentation Convent 10-01; NIS Club bt KV Sunjwan 11-02; SAI Club bt Diamond Club 10-03; Presentation Convent bt KV Nagrota 08-04.
