| DoP TO ORGANISE 36TH UNIVERSAL POSTAL LETTER WRITING COMPETITION | | | JAMMU, Dec 8
Department of Posts, Government of India, J&K Circle is organizing 36th Universal Postal Letter Writing Competition for Young People 2007 on 7th January, 2007 . The Competition will be held at Srinagar, Baramulla, Udhampur and Jammu. The Competition is open to school going children up-to 15 years of age as on 31st March,2007. The duration of the time is one hour from 1000 hrs to 1100 hrs. The subject of the competition is, “Imagine you are a wild animal whose habitat is threatened by environment or climate change. Write a letter to the people of the world, explaining to them what they can do to help you survive”. The intending participants can write in English or any other language listed in the 8th schedule of the constitution of India. The last date for submission of application forms, duly complete in all respects is 20th December,2006 and may be addressed to the Accounts Officer, O/o Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, Srinagar-190001. The best entry at the National level shall qualify as the Official Indian entry for International Competition. The best entry at the national level will get Rs.2000/- and a Certificate while the 2nd best entry will get Rs.1500 and a certificate. The third best entry will be given Rs.1000/- and a certificate. Besides, a consolation prize of Rs.250/- will be given to the best entry from each postal circle.
